Computer-On-A-Stick, created in 2014 by Computers4Haiti and a group of VCU students, was like “LibreOffice Portable” but more. It was the student computer without the computer! A portable student environment (with TuxMath, Tux Paint, LibreOffice, Klavaro…), that worked by itself from a USB and usable in any Cyber Cafe.

What is a portable student environment? Portability: Use them on any computer without installation. Privacy and Security: Keep data contained within the portable storage device. No System Alterations: They don’t modify system settings or registry entries. Isolation: Run independently without leaving traces on the host computer. Ease of Use: They come pre-configured and ready to use.
